
GROUP REFLECTIONS




As future teachers, we view performance assessment as an essential tool to measure how well the students in terms of applying their knowledge and skills in an authentic setting. This kind of assessment involves a key feature that requires the learners to perform a task as well as produce something in accordance with the specific criteria and standards. Also, we found out how to develop and design an authentic performance task using GRASPS model. We discovered that this model is a good starting point which encourage students to utilize their thinking skills and demonstrate application of the knowledge that they obtained throughout their learning. Furthermore, performance assessment can provide a foundation for improving instruction and boost student's understanding what they are able to do with what they know. Thus, it is important to assess student's learning through their outputs along with the processes that they underwent to be able to come up at these products.


Classroom has a a lot of diversity of students in different ways of learning, in different approaches as well as in their behaviors towards learning. This module, study guide 3 "Authentic Assessment of the Affective Domain" opens the door for teachers and future educators not just to consider cognitive traits in teaching. Affective Domain plays a big part in the teaching and learning processes. Affective Domain define as the attitudes and behaviors, emotions and feelings on how to deal with things emotionally and on how we respond in the given situation.
Given in this module are the different types of assessment tools used by teachers to measure or assessed students affective traits: self report, rating scale, semantic differential scale, thurstone and likert scale and the checklist. There are also a lot of affective traits observed or assessed by teachers using the given assessment tools for affective traits. It is important for teachers to know every details of their study for them to know where they could start teaching and on what they can do, on what approaches they can use in order for the students to grow not just mentally but also emotionally, also improve behaviors in learning and on how teachers leave a marks on each student realizing how important the learning is.


As a future educators, we view that the portfolio will be the compilation of our efforts in our perspective reports or class presentation in the whole school year. But the portfolio must be planned and organized clearly by teachers like us in the future or the students showing efforts in the whole school year. On the other hand the grading system as we future educators the grading system will serve as our guide for assessing and grading the outputs passed by our students and the quizzes or exams taken by our students. For report system, as a future educators this is our time as a teacher in the future to report the results of our teaching in the whole school year to our perspective heads. The scores, activities, and behaviors of our students.
